Beabadoobee — Worth It. An exclusive performance for Vevo DSCVR, the channel for the best in new music.
Few songs embody the phenomenon of “blowin’ up on TikTok” better than beabadoobee’s “death bed (coffee for your head)” with powfu. The viral hit has been an early career milestone for beabadoobee, whose real name is Beatrice Laus. But let’s be real: She was already making big time moves. Extensive touring with The 1975 and Phoebe Bridgers brought her nostalgic brand of roaring melodic alt-rock to every corner of the US and UK. Her ‘Fake It Flowers debut album arrives in October, but the beabadoobee discography is already deep — she’s been releasing tracks since 2017. It’s also varied — ranging between soft lullabies and thrashing breakdowns. Our DSCVR series has captured both sides of her vibe. In the middle of the quarantine, she performed acoustic iterations of “Sorry” and “Care” from the safety of her home. Now, following all the proper guidelines, our UK studio has been cleared for re-opening. And as much as we all loved her first round of DSCVR performances, we sure missed the drums, the fuzzy guitar, the infectious camaraderie. Bea and her crew squeezed every ounce of energy out of “Care” and “Worth It.” And, boy, did they look like they were enjoying rockin’ together again.
